Once your first device is live

Four steps is enough to get a proxy running. These are the things worth reading before you leave a phone running unattended or hand credentials to a paying customer.

• Set up Owner ModeOwner Mode stops Android from killing the app in the background, which is what makes a phone stable enough to leave unattended. It needs a factory reset, so it's easiest on a phone you haven't set up yet.
• Use a phone you already ownThe handset in your drawer plus a data SIM is a real proxy node. No root, no flashing, about 15 minutes.
• Decide how often to rotateRotating too often breaks sessions and looks synthetic, too rarely gets you rate-limited. The answer depends on the job.
• Pick a protocol for your customersEvery device serves HTTP, SOCKS5 and OpenVPN at once, so this is about what your customer's tooling expects rather than what you enable.
• Turn it into a businessWhat to charge, where the customers are, and the margin math once you own the hardware.
