Why the pairing matters
An antidetect browser gives every profile its own device fingerprint; a proxy gives it its own network identity. Platforms check both, so a perfect fingerprint on a flagged datacenter IP still fails. That's why serious multi-account operators pair each profile with a mobile carrier IP, the type platforms can't afford to block. Ideally each important account gets its own dedicated device so no stranger's traffic ever touches its IP.
The five fields (same everywhere)
Every antidetect browser asks for the same things, just arranged differently:
- Protocol, SOCKS5 or HTTP. Both work; SOCKS5 is the safer default. (Unsure which? See SOCKS5 vs HTTP Proxy.)
- Host, your proxy server's address (with PocketProxy, shown on your device's connection page).
- Port, one number for HTTP, another for SOCKS5; use the one matching your chosen protocol.
- Username & password , your proxy credentials. Paste them exactly; a trailing space is the #1 cause of “proxy check failed.”

Always run the built-in proxy check before launching the profile, and once inside the browser visit an IP-checker site to confirm the mobile carrier IP one more time. Never log into an account through a profile whose proxy you haven't verified, one accidental login from your real IP links the identity permanently.
Rules that keep accounts alive
- One profile, one proxy, one account. Don't reuse an IP across accounts on the same platform, IP overlap is the first thing linking algorithms look for. The full playbook is in Run Multiple Instagram Accounts Without Bans.
- Keep the pairing stable. Accounts expect a consistent home. Rotate the IP only when you need a fresh identity, not routinely mid-life.
- Match timezone to the IP. Most antidetect browsers can set the profile timezone from the proxy automatically, turn that on and one classic mismatch disappears.
Frequently asked questions
Should I use SOCKS5 or HTTP in an antidetect browser?
Both work in every major antidetect browser. SOCKS5 is the safer default, it carries any traffic without touching it. If a specific tool only speaks HTTP, use HTTP. With PocketProxy the same device exposes both, so you can switch protocols without changing proxies.
One proxy for all my profiles, or one per profile?
One dedicated proxy per account/profile is the gold standard, platforms link accounts that share an IP. If budget forces sharing, never share an IP between accounts on the same platform. A dedicated device per important account keeps every identity separate.
The proxy checker shows a different city than my phone. Is that a problem?
Usually no. IP geolocation databases place carrier IPs at the carrier’s gateway city, which can be far from the physical phone. Platforms see the same databases, so consistency matters more than precision, keep the same proxy on the same profile and the identity stays coherent.
Do I still need an antidetect browser if my proxy is good?
For multi-account work, yes. The proxy handles your network identity; the antidetect browser handles your device fingerprint (canvas, fonts, WebGL, timezone). Platforms check both. One clean layer doesn’t excuse the other, the combination is what makes profiles look like separate real people.
